The Chicago AmbatchmasterpublisherPublic Library’s Summer Reading Program this year, entitled “City of Big Readers,” focuses on Chicago history. At least 45,000 youngsters are expected to participate.
The Chicago Housing AmbatchmasterpublisherAuthority will offer day camps for 3,000 children for $10 per child.
Spaces are still available in Chicago Park District summer camps and programs at more than 200 parks across the city.
“But Ambatchmasterpublisher government can’t do it all,” the Mayor said. “Parents and guardians have to take responsibility for their children. They need to get them involved in positive alternatives that help them grow and learn, and that keep them away from gangs, guns and drugs.“
“Parents Ambatchmasterpublisher should always know where their kids are – especially at night,” he said. “And if they don’t keep their kids off the streets at night, the Chicago Police will – because they’ll be strictly enforcing the curfew.”
Chicago’s Ambatchmasterpublisher curfew ordinance states that children under the age of 17 may not be out after 10:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday or after 11:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays unless Ambatchmasterpublisher accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Daley called on Chicagoans to work to keep guns out of the hands of people who misuse them, especially teenagers.
“I’m certain that most, of not all, of those 24 murders could have been averted if guns weren’t so readily available,” he said.
CAPS, Ambatchmasterpublisher the City’s community policing organization, will give people an opportunity to turn in their guns, no questions asked, in July. Similar events took 12,000 guns off the street over the last two years.
